I could feel a G.A.S. flare-up coming on earlier in the week. I tried my best not to give in but… I'm pretty sure I stole this guitar. I've been looking around for about 4 years for one of these at a good price.

Nice score.
Does it have a Roland pickup built in, or is it a separate attachment?
I have a synth but it requires the pickup to be stuck on near the bridge.

I got it today. What a solid guitar! Much heavier than I thought it would be. The pick ups sound great and this guitar has the coil-splitter toggle switches which makes this guitar a two for one, stratocaster/Les Paul. It plays very smooth and the vibrato bar works very nicely and stays in tune. I can play any style of music with this guitar, it is so nice I can't believe it. It came with the synth pick up but I doubt I'll ever use it.

I always wondered about these guitars. What styles of music would they be good for?

Tend to be used by people who lean toward prog and/or metal. They have incredible note clarity and ease of playing. Reeves Gabrels (Tin Machine, Bowie) described his as being so easy to play (fast) that they are a bit frightening. :mrgreen:

They do have rather flat scales, which is modern in feel and a turnoff to vintage minded people. And of course the looks (although now 30++ years old) is still ultra modern.
