Hey there,
Has anybody experimented with different speakers in a 4x12 Traditional recto cab?
I'm thinking about trying Greenbacks.
Thanks,
Rick

well not in a mesa cab i have 2 cl80's and 2 vintage 30's in my diezel cab, i say go for it the worst that will happen is that you'll put back in the old speakers

Someone just posted a pic of all EVM's.

If you are thinking about G/B's why not just get a 1960ax/bx cab?

Are you happy with the cl80 and v30 combination because maybe I want to change two v30's in my 4*12 metalgrill cab into cl80's or c90's, because the sound now is a little bit too sharp.

I really like the build quality of my recto cab.

I guess my biggest concern is that apparently the recto 4x12's were designed specifically around the V30"s.

I think that you'd be better trying a Marshall cab then to **** out your Mesa and to risk to ruin a few hundred bucks just to try different speakers.

If you love the Marshall, then I wouldn't see why this would not sound great. To me, V30s are the best sounding and most dynamic speakers out there, but you can always love a change.

Try a Marshall!
