New Stiletto youtube video

Hello everyone. I have just recorded my first youtube videos. I plan on adding more stuff throughout the day. I am by no means a professional cameraman and am just an average guitar player, but the video will at least give people an idea how awesome the Stiletto is! Also check out my tricked out strat in another video!

Hmm. I tuned up before I made those. I use a Boss TU-2. I did miss a few notes though while playing. I had just got up and the coffee hadn't kicked in yet! Thanks for the feedback.

Here is a new video I posted. I am playing a medley of Iron Maiden songs. My amp is a Deuce II paired with a Marshall 1960AV 4x12 cab (vintage 30 speakers).

I'm looking for some feedback on the tone. I think the sound is good, but a little high pitched. I am considering getting a recto cab since everyone here seems to think it pairs good with the stiletto. Please listen to the video and give me advice on some settings or perhaps what cab I should buy. Keep in mind that I play stuff like Maiden, Priest, and other 80's metal. Thats the type sound I am looking to nail. I am looking at either the recto or stiletto cab in a 2x12 or 4x12.

Here are the settings I used in the Video:

Tite Gain
Spongy
Tube Rectifier
50 watt mode
Gain: 12 o'clock
Treble: 1 o'clock
Mid: 10 o'clock
Bass: 4 o'clock
Presence: 11 o'clock

I listened to it yesterday. I think your tone is relatively close, just thought it sounded a bit thin or bass-shy. That could be the result of how it was recorded or whatever Youtube does to it though.

It is thin and shy of bass. I do think that the low quality of the recording device plays a small part, but it definately does lack some low end. I have read some other posts here on how the recto cab might add some low end, but I really don't see how it can be such a big difference since the recto cab and my Marshall cab have the exact same speakers. I really need to make a trip to the local Mesa dealer. I have been putting it off since it is a little bit of a drive from where I live.

I would go with a Stiletto 4X12 straight cab... 8)

Straight cabs have a better lowend. Typically. Try mixing V30's and T75's in a cab. I think the V30's are too harsh in the mids with the stilettos. Swapping 2 V30's for 2 T75's should smooth out the mids just right.

The straight cabs have less of that high end in your face thing going on. Also, the low end is marginally tighter and bigger as well...

I don't own a Stiletto. However, I played a Stage I Trident the other day for a few hours. I actually went to a Sam Ash, where they had one used. The place was empty, and they let me crank her up for quite a while. I tweaked and played the amp in many different modes & channels during that time. It was paired with a Marshall 4x12, and sounded excellent. This is what I found gave me a GREAT sound. Keep in mind, one of the best ways to get it to fatten up is to turn it up. Mesas sound good low, but much better when breathing harder. YMMV, hope it helps.

Tite Gain
Spongy (I used bold)
Tube Rectifier ( i used diode)
50 watt mode ( i used this mostly - tried 150W mode and the tone was still fat, it just pushed more air)
Gain: 12 o'clock (1:00-2:00)
Treble: 1 o'clock (more like 11:00ish)
Mid: 10 o'clock
Bass: 4 o'clock
Presence: 11 o'clock (9:00ish)

I was playing thru a ESP Eclipse with EMG 81/85's in it.

Master output was up high enough that you had to shout to be heard. You can experiment with channel output vs. master volume to see if you can stress the power section a little more.

Like I said, I don't own one. I started out with everything at noon, and worked from there. I thought it sounded pretty badass set like that, and the sales guys came up grinning in agreement. My personal opinion is that you have a fine setup as is, I wouldn't worry about getting a different cab. Tweak some more, maybe try a friends guitar w/ different pickups. Better yet, have them play while you dial in the amp.
