Just got a Les Paul Goldtop Classic! The pickups are eq'd (if that's the right term) a little higher than my LP Standard Burstbuckers (which i love)...voila! Just what I was aiming for! I wanted the thickness of humbuckers with a little more edge, something between my LP and Strat. I was thinking of an LP with mini humbuckers but this sweet axe presented itself...
Have a BB preamp showing up any day now!
So my LSS was doing its thing, it just needed the right geetar...
also made getting light crunch out of channel one easier.
Lovin' it :D

Guitar/Pickups shape tone more than anything else, imho

When I play my Single Coil axe through my LSC the tone is COMPLETELY different than with my Humbucking guitar. Sounds like a different amp altogether. Both sound great...just very very different.
