New old PRS on the way

well i snagged this one on ebay today and im pretty stoked about getting it, its what i have been dying to get, a CE 24 with a great top and birds, pretty rare find too.

and its also signed by paul, to ryan, congratulations on the killer top CE signed Paul Reed Smith. this guitar should be something special. i thought i would share because i know some people here are into PRSi, plus the birds and moons forum is screwed up haha

That's pretty slick dude. Birds and a top like that on a CE are hard to find! What year is it and what did you give for it? (if you don't mind me asking)

its a 96, the guy said its a short heel version, but i dont know, it looks similar to my 1999 ce. and to get it, i had to give up my life and search on ebay constantly, but money wise it cost $1500 shipped, which i thought was a **** good deal and i couldnt live with myself if i had passed it up.

that really is a hell of a deal, congrats man. PRSs look so goddamn good, especially in person. unfortunately i've never played one. i probably should.

post a pic of the heel. 95 is the last year of the short heel prefactory spec prs. ryan might have bought a 95 in 96. what kind of neck is it? i used to love prs but then i found ernie ball :wink:

it doesnt look like the small one, it looks the same as my '99 which is good cause i dont want to have to worry about it haiving any dead spots

yeah im pretty sure thats the large heel. the difference in the heel isnt as huge as people make it out to be. there is something about pre factory that sets them apart, but again probably psychological

its actually slightly smaller than the '99's heel in a close comparison, but the 99 is a wide thin ad the 96 is a regular carve
