New member of the Mesa family!!!

I've had a bias modded 5150 for over 5 years now, and recently sold it for a Mark IV (B version) and 2x12 recto cab. It should be here tomorrow or Friday, and I'm REALLY excited about it.

My question is this:
When I fire it up for the first time, I want to hit a big open high gain chord and listen to the amp grind and roar. I'm told I'll **** my pants. On the Grailtone preset database, what would be the best preset for that kind of sound? I'm looking for lots of gain, huge, and plenty of midrange grind. Let me know your opinions!

Congrats!

I think the "instant gratifications settings" in the owner's manual are a great place to start. The sound very good no matter what type of guitar you are using. Many different settings are available on this board, but most of them are tweaked for a certain guitar type. Definitely read the manual through. The controls work very differently than other amplifiers and it helps to have your head around it. My 2 cents.

You should really have an extra pair of tighty whiteys around too. :shock:
