What an opened ended question!!!

Not to be rude, but it would be great if you could give us more hints as to what you want, cause there's a few in the Mesa range that can cover metal tones. Hell, some people were shocked that I was playing so pretty mean metal tunes through a Lone Star Special...

What do I want from my amp.... in the main I play the Blues - sort of a bit "dirty" rock blues. I've also started to get into some quite heavy high gain stuff like Children of Bodom.

Hey Monty...I play "hard" blues as such, w/ really crunchy chords and near feedback laden lead tones using an Ace combo w/ a 2x12 recto cab. I couldn't be happier w/ my sound!! I don't even need my EQ pedal since I got the 2x12. The tite-gain channel is where I live mostly, although my cleans have also fattened up w/ the recto so I'm enjoying those more too. 8)

Good luck in your quest!!!

You sound like a kindred spirit.. crunchy chords... feedback leads. So do you practice at home on the Ace? Any problems with the neighbors?

There is still a number of Mesa amps that can cover that ground. Perhaps you have some sort of preferences in tone???

My preference in tone - is for deep, dark and lush tones... for my blues/rock - sorry not very good at describing tones.

I would say the Roadster or Road King II IMO, based on what you've just mentioned...

i would totally say roadster. you can get some kickin blues tones with the tweed mode and nice cleans as well not to mention the different high gain flavors in ch 3 & 4 its the way to go for an all in one amp.
