I'm relatively new to this site and am very impressed with knowledge base about old boogies. I've had a Mk1 reissue since 1991 and love that amp. I've always steered clear of anything more complex due to the fear of change i guess. I recently took the plunge however and bought and early Mk III with a serial number in the lower 15xxx. It has the 105 transformer and this amp is now my main machine! I couldn't believe the tones thiis thing is capable of and still can't. I'm still finding a new wrinkle every time I turn it on. I've learned quite a bit since I joined up and really applaude y'all for what u do so well. Thanks Randy/Birmingham

welcome, and I'm sure as time goes by you'll pass on the knowledge you gain of these two fine amps!

Welcome to the board!

Your Mark III wouldn't happen to be the hardwood combo black dot that was on CL a few months ago was it? I tried to snag that one.
