For some reason the release date was bumped to yesterday.

I braved quite the swarm of bugs last night (actually so many/so thick it sounded like popcorn popping as they pelted off my helmet--thank God for full-face helmets) and picked it up at the local bigbox.

Well......

It rocks. And is a far more varied/diverse album than I had expected.

If ya like Joe or Sammy, it is an absolute.

If ya like rock....yep, it is a must.

Sadly, after my first listen, my wife took the cd and it is now in her car.

Anyway, you can certainly tell it is Joe (but why wouldn't you want that), but his guitar work is great. Both in riff/rhythm and lead work

These 12 'clips' are quite indepth and take a while, but for music geeks like us, they are very worth the time.

And are the testament to the skill/maturity/cohesiveness of these guys!!!!

Check it out!

I've heard it and it is pretty good. I'm not a huge Sammy fan, but i'll tolerate him in this kind of super group. I mean, Satriani!!!!!

We were talking about Sammy at work yesterday.
Someone said, "He ruined Van Halen."
My only reply was, "Eddie and Dave and cocaine ruined Van Halen. Sammy was hired by them, not the other way around!"

I actually like some of his stuff, especially the stuff he did right after leaving VH and the Montrose stuff.

Yeah, so my daughter gave the album to me for Fathers Day last Sunday.
By album I mean that it is the actual vinyl version. Very cool. I have over a thousand of those vinyl albums from the old days. Some of them came in rare collectors packaging. I still have my turntable and I do slap a record on from time to time but this is the first new record I’ve got in many years.

Now, the cool part about this Chickenfoot record is the record jacket. It looks just like the CD cover but the ink on the jacket is heat sensitive. If you put your hand on it you will leave a palm print as the black ink changes. Beneath the palm print or finger prints you can see photos of the band. Pretty damn cool. It kind of reminds me of how much I miss the old album art that you used to get.
