Hi all,
I have just buy a new amp. It was sold for an out of order Mark2. When I come to the seller, I found a Mark 2C without reverb and EQ, an SX. It has a low serial for Mkc 111xx

I return to my house with the faulty Amp...

When I plug the main power, the current fault, as a short circuit...after only 10 minutes I found a short circuit in the power socket !!!!!!

After this, the amp works, not fine but there is the sound, the pot schratch ther was buzz and the sound was not good. I have check all the circuit, the resistor and found another problem with the 2 polarization resistors, the first one has not the good value and the other was open.

I have changed the 2 * 470 Ohms resistors and cleaning all the contacts and pots.
AND THIS AMP ROCK !!!!!

I am very surprising with the sound, it is a Mark 2C with the SP10 PCB board, and the sound is really really good especially in the clean channel. I no need reverb for a good sound !!!!

If someone can help me for the chassis code because there is a sticker beside the SX and a number 22 (picture 3) :
Sacher
SX B9
Batch Y4
22

Here some pics of the baby :

That's easy..
The "Y4" batch came straight after the "Y3" batch..
And these were all variations on the "Y not" batch..

or I could be talking out my beer glass...

SX = Sixty Watt Export
Pretty sure the "22" = 22nd week of production that year

No idea about thes sticker but what looks like "Y4" may actually be "1/4"

Maybe the Batch refers to the week of production.
It looks to me that it means "Batch 22".

Yet, the amp was produced on the 22nd week of the year (around late May) but the chassis was labeled 11/83 (Nov 83). Such a long time, isn't it?

I also agree with GTS that it looks like a 1/4, rather than a Y4. Could it be that Mr. Sacher ordered 4 similar amps and this is the first one of them, as in "1 of 4"?

Now, what does the B9 mean? Could it be that it originally had a PCB board 9 (B9) instead of the SP10?
