Hi, all:

I recently bought a new set of tubes for my two dual rectifiers. One set was from thetubedepot and they were marked with 16-17 numbers on the tubes. The other set was from Ruby Tubes and the number was in the high 30s, which is more of what I expected.

Does anyone have tubes in their dual recto from the tubedepot and what number did your tubes have written on them? I am curious since the numbers are so far from each other.

If everyone on the board would purchase a MaxiMatcher, we could compare readings from the entire population of tubes and do away with all the uncertainty.

Do we even know what the numbers are and if everyone measures them the same way? Are they at all comparable?
Unfortunately, vendors measure them in different ways. Kinda why I was wondering if anyone had similar readings for a Dual Rec from the Tubedepot.

I believe those numbers are supposed to be in ma. I've bought a lot of tubes from Tube Depot over the past 10+ years with no issues. I always tell them what amp they are for (Mark IV) and that I need a middle rated tube. My EL34s are usually upper 20's to low 30's. However I did once get a pair measured at 44. Had no issues, My 6L6s are usually in the low 20's.

Hope this helps.
