Well i am after a new amp..I am needing a amp with more bottom than my mk Iv/mk iic+ gut's but still with lot's of tightness.. i am wanting it for a heavy big rhy live and loud..clean and lead isn't as important (thats wat my mk's are for ) But all in the same amp would be cool..I am thinking Rk II roadster or a stiletto...I am wanting something sounding Way tough think this sort of sound

THanks alot Tom[/url]

Listened to the clip. Sounded like a recto to me. I'd think DR, ROV, SR, RKII, or Roadster would get you there. Just depends on how much you want to pay and what you want for cleans.

yeah.. i willing to get a RKII.. just seeing if there worth it..

yeah the mk's are great lead amp's..with lot's of cutting mid's.. and at low volumes they can get a almost rectoish tone.. but once you turn it up the simlu class amp goes sweeter and more vocied for lead... i love that about mk's.. just not enough bottom end punch..

i have a 4x12..

I've owned rectifier and stiletto. This sounds more rectifier/roadster. Stiletto's are not fat / heavy sounding, they are more articulate and cutting but still with gain to spare.

that tone is most definitely engl... I'd have to recommend saving up and going either engl or diezel if thats what your looking for. RKII is definitely closest for Mesa comparisons though

Well there's an Engl in a few of their pics so I'm thinking it's a safe bet that they use them! Why not check one out, might save you a bit of $$$ on the cost of a Mesa too.

well. in Aust mesa are more expensive than Engl and bogner.. i could get a ubershall for RRP $4900 and a roadster for $5600 RRP and a engl powerball $4000..if i was up for something else to mesa i would go the bogner.. but i like the 4 channel idea of the roadster...and i played a roadster the other day and loved it..

So it's been reduced to a bogner or a roadster...aha

If you're looking for an amp that give you all of it tone-wise, I'd recommend getting a Road King II locally WITH A RETURN PRIVELEDGE & give yourself some time with it. I get sparkling clean, cutting mid gain lead, sustainy lead & Recto super crunch rhythm with mine. I opted for Yellowjackets W/EL84's in place of the EL34's, but you might like the stock set-up better.
No one trick pony here!
I wish you the best in your quest.

before you decide between those two check out the engl se.... its probably one of the most diverse amps out there.... it can do just about any tone plus its midi capable ..... the uber and roadster are both incredible amps.... its just a matter or taste and what functions of the amp you'll use... but do yourself a favor and try and play an engl se too

That sounds like an engl to me. Id look into a engl fireball. It sounds just like that to me.

Also, that song, "ow my feelings" sounds just like a band called meshuggah. Listen to them a bit and read up on them and the gear they use.

*edit* These guys sound like they are trying to emulate meshuggah after listening to more of their songs. Check out that band for gear to look for.
