Hello everyone. I'm new here and wanted to get your insight regarding this old Boogie (HG) I just acquired. It's a little rough, but sounds astounding! Also, what's the scoop on these 4x12 cabinets? I've never seen one quite like it. :?

Lovely amp. What's rough about it :)?Not much to add.1980 mark IIb 60/100 watt.Looks mint inside. The cabinet is an early(1980's) 4x12 half back(Half open/half closed).Possibly loaded with MS-12S and or EV 12-L's?

Sounds about right on the age but the speakers are difinitley not EV's.

Most likely C-90's up top and VS-12's in the bottom. The bottoms "might" be MS-12's but I suspect they are VS-12's.

Post some pics of the back with the rear panel(s) removed. Then we can tell you more definitely what speakers you have in it.

Here you go... Looks like a matching pair of MS-12's. The top two speakers are the old Rola Celestion G12-80's.

Nice.
I have seen G12-80's in the older Metal Grille Halfback 4x12's before but it's somewhat uncommon. Well to some extent.....
Mesa used G12-80's before spec'ing and having Celestion make them the C-90's.
Once Mesa was getting the C-90's they used them in the 4x12's instead of the G12-80's

Considering your cab has the "BOOGIE" logo on it (versus the later "Mesa/Boogie logo) it's an early cab made at a time when Mesa was using G12-80's
(Fwiw the Metal "knife edge" handles with "Mesa" on them also indicate it's an earlier 4x12.)

Cool. Thank you very much for your info and insight! :)
