Hi !!! i want to expand my rig and my comfort of my stuff ... right now i have a mark iv head a cab and a guitar ... i also got a overdrive pedal but that's not very important. i'm thinking of buying a Rocktron Xpression for effects .... do you recommend it? what do i need to make everything midi switchable so i can make presets that change the channels on my amp and effect on the multi-effect ? thx for you're help !!!

Yes the Xpression is a great piece of gear very transparent as far as controlling it all- Midi board is up to you I use a Rocktron All Access but that might be overkill for you. As for controlling the Mark IV there are other ways but you want to check into the CFX4 http://www.axess-electronics.com/sc/Amp-Controllers-p-1-c-252.html I just ordered one myself with this unit for an extra $50 you can get a custom cable for the Mark IV. With this cable one connection to the CFX4 and the other to the Mark IV were you would normally plug the foot switch in. without the custom cable you would have to use the amps external jacks, a little more wiring involved.

Lets say i have the CFX4 and a midi controller and the Rocktron Xpression how do i connect them all together ?

Like petrucci111 said midi cables. So one midi cable from midi board to Xpression and another midi cable from Xpression to CFX4.
To cable it is easy to get the gear to react the way you want is not necessarily hard but you defiantly have to read up on all pieces of gear involved. If this is going to be your first time involved with midi, I suggest getting a book on midi. You don’t have to be programming genius to do what you want but a book and a little light reading here and there my help you wrap your head around it a little better. Just to give you some basic concepts.
