Need Help Identifying Parts!

Hello All!

As I was removing my tubes to clean my Dual rectifier(3ch 2005) I thought this would be a good time to learn what those 3 big boxes in there are and what purpose they serve!

So from left to right what are these 3 boxes, and what do they do?

as alway any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

Those are your transformers (left side is the output transformer) in a push-pull guitar amplifier is the last stage of the audio path before getting to a speaker.

The transformer’s function is to convert the high-voltage/low-current signal from the amplifier’s power tubes into a low-voltage/high-current signal to power the speakers at a low impedance. It is responsible for how efficiently the audio power of an amp will transfer to the load of the speakers, and it prevents hundreds of volts (DC) from passing to the speakers.

The power transformer is on the right, which is used to convert the incoming line (or mains) voltage to a higher or lower value for use in a guitar amp.

The smaller silver guy is your choke which is used in the power supply of a guitar amp as a filtering element. Looking a lot like a transformer a choke only has two leads coming from the housing. They are designed to block AC current while passing DC current. Their purpose in guitar amp filter supplies is to smooth out the ripple in the rectified DC, a choke in the filter supply results in less background hum and cleaner, better bass response.
