Hi everyone. I have a few metal pedals I am interested in, and would like to see which one you all think would be best. Two of the three I cannot demo before purchase, since no one near me stocks them (Keeley and T-rex). Here are the three options I have narrowed down.

1. EHX Metal Muff

2. T-Rex Bloody Mary

3. Have Keeley mod my MT-2 (which is not too good stock)

I have also thought about the Zvex box of metal, but it is way too expensive, expecially for a pedal I won't use but for a few songs, since my Stiletto will work for most music I play.

First off: You will never be able to match a pedal to the sound of a high gain amp. So whatever you're trying to achieve in your mind, you won't get in a pedal. That said, of alll your choices I believe the metal muff to be the best choice. Because of the top boost (which when I had one I always left on) It had a ton of cut and none of the cheap fizzyness of a metal muff. Which still sounds band even after the mod, I've heard it first hand.

However, you must listen to this first

The Black Star HT Dist-X is the best metal pedal I have ever heard. It's around $150, I would do that before any of your other options.

Hope this helps.
