Hey guys!

So I'm going AxeFX, and I need a stereo tube power amp for it.

I'm currently running it through the FX return of my Mark IV, and it SLAYS!

So, what model power amp would be closest to the power amp of my Mark IV?

I'm thinking either the Simul 295, of 2:90...

Let me know what you think!

Eric

Either would be fine. The AxeFX is capable of so much tonal shaping, you probably wouldn't notice much difference between two high quality Mesa power amps. It really comes down to how much power you need (and how much it weighs).

+1, the Axe FX will give you too much tweaking room to worry about the poweramp.
I have the 90/90 and I love it in conjunction with my TriAxis, running my JVM's preamp in stereo or running the TriAxis in stereo with the JVM power section and 2:90. Only downside is - the ******* weighs a ton.

Hey Ibanez,

Musicmakers out of Austin has my 295 for sale. The cord has been shortened by a Mesa tech to about 20" and a resistor change has raised the bias from 10 mA to 20 mA with Mesa reds. It's a great amp, but I found a Roadster combo that I couldn't turn down.
