Well After 7 years of not having one I sold my Bogner Ubercab and went back to Mesa. I liked the Uber a lot however I find that with Low tunings and/or lots of gain I prefer the Mesa vintage 30 sound. I'm pretty excited. I feel like the one I had previously was not as good as this one. I really haven't pushed it yet but it looks like overall the quality is still top notch. The attention to detail and the no expense spared logic that goes into these cabs is really great. Some companies seem to look for cheaper ways over the years. I see NO drop in the quality of this product or its parts. It looks and feels just as good as the one I bought almost 9 years ago.

I bought it mainly for recording and I hope it does the trick.

Thanks man! I hope to have some clips soon. It's going to be hard not to crank this thing when I should be playing quietly at home ha.

Ha, good luck not cranking that! I sometimes regret trading my Rectocab for a bass but we simply do not have room for a 4 x 12 and my ears can't take those SPLs. Do yourself a favour and stand in the other room or wear ear plugs so you don't end up stone deaf in a year

Ha no way man I want to feel it! It's crazy with the 5150 I can get band volume at 1.5 on post gain. Thing is stupid loud. I can get a decent enough bedroom tone with it before the power tubes really kick in. It should work out good.

For recording it will be in a closet with some acoustic foam on the door. This way i can get it maybe up to 2 for tracking.

Oh gosh, I remember those days!

My friend was sitting by my computer playing videogames and he was right in front of my halfstack. I powered it up without his knowledge and hit a drop D power chord and he almost fell out of his chair!

If I ever do it again, I'll probably do what I should have done in the first place and pickup up the Stiletto / Traditional Rectocab.

:D That's not a very nice thing to do to someone. haha.

I don't think getting a trad cab will lower the volume any! They are beasts too.

LOL

If anything, they're even louder! I just like the mid focused tone more so if I ever 'NEED' a 4 x 12 again, I know which one I'll get!

Congrats man, this things are so loud (sort to speak, of course the amp is the main loud source) that I'm considering buying a 2X12" horizontal recto cab. Heard the tone is pretty much the same and dont need to "crank" so much the amp... and the weight man, the weight!
