I just bought a Mark V 25 Head with the gold grill cloth. I currently have a 1x12 Rectifier Cab (for sale) and would like to get either a 1x12 or 2x12 cab with the matching grill cloth. If money was not an issue, I'd get the 2x12 all the way. But, I just don't know that I want to spend quite that much on a cab right now. Should I go with the Mini Rectifier Angled cab, or the Lonestar 23 cab? Which one would sound bigger and fuller with the MV25?

Both are great cabs. I REALLY like my angled 1x12 better these days, personally.

Thanks for the info. It's a toss up to me. I like the look of the Slant cabs, but I've heard they can be boxy and lack low end. I'm also thinking about seeing if Mesa can sell me a Widebody front ported 1x12 with the gold grill cloth.

I use the Widebody closed back with my V:25 and it sounds great. Good low end for a 112. I also use it with the full V head as well.

Nice man!!!

I have just traded a 3 channel Dual recto for the Mark 5 25 and I am using a recto 4x12 with the mark 5 25 and it sounds absolute KILLER

I would hunt around for a used recto cab man then just swap your grille cloth to match..

How do you switch the grill cloth? Never done it. Do you order it from Mesa or just find something similar and do it yourself?

I was going to suggest the same thing--get a used 2x12 recto and swap out the grill cloth. I'm not sure how that's done but I'd think it shouldn't be hard as long as you can get the matching cloth. And Mesa would probably do it if you asked (and paid, obviously).

Daniel - you like your angled 1x12 better than your 2x12? I really need to get somewhere were I can try them myself I guess. I really need the portability of the 1x12 but am worried it will not sound as big and full as I would like.

I definitely don't mind doing the work myself, but yes I guess I just need to contact Mesa and price some cloth.

No no no no no. the original question was about the slant 1x12 vs the lonestar 23, which is what I meant.
