This is so neat. Mine doesn't even have the reverb, so it's just an S, but I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment. I actually prefer my Purple to my Blue DRG by a long shot (don't say anything to it, it's super sensitive and can get really aggressive).

Anyway, super happy for you. Love to hear some sound cloud posts or something if you get the chance.

I’ll also add, your non-GEQ purple vids were definitely a contributing factor pushing me over the edge on snagging this haha

It’s at my drummers, and I’ve futzed around since then; but I know what the overal settings were:

Volume: 7
Treble: 7-8
Bass: 0
Middle: 5
Master: 3 maybe?
Lead drive: 10
Lead master: somewhere between 3-5


Treble and bass shift both pulled, but I don’t think that affects the lead channel? Not sure if I had lead master bright pulled or not. Presence probably 2-3

80hz: +3db
240hz: -4db
750hz: -9 or 10db
2200hz: flat
6600hz: +7.6db

My bands actually recording an EP right now, we did the drums at a nice studio but will be self tracking the guitars and the III is definitely going to be on there

Liked your perceptions about the purple stripe including those about having no EQ.
Saying this because I have a purple with no EQ. Mines a DR. It has more than enough headroom even in Class A (15 Watts)

Swapped out the BAD50 to be the he resident “away from home amp” for the IiI at my drummers house tonight, I was only without the III at home for under two weeks but man I missed having constant access… this amp just sounds so good…. Even late night low volume playing with an attenuator it’s the most instant gratification of any of my marks I feel like… idk if it’s the slightly lower wattage or what…

I love all my marks but I do feel like it has a lil special sauce that my V and even my IV don’t have

Something about this pilot light too is just instant vibes
