I picked this baby up on evilbay for about 20$ and it has tone to spare! I removed the probe that came with it and replaced it with a 1/4 in jack. The hole was just the right size.

It has an old EL-MENCO 12AX7A tube for gain and a 12CA5 tube for the output and a Magic-Eye tube to boot.

A good clean tone and a KILLER Overdrive when cranked. Throw a boost infront and you are in heaven. Based on the schematic it should be able to drive an external speaker.

I'll post some clips this afternoon.

The mod was real simple.

Most of the first few clips are in this sequence: Bridge Pickup, Bridge Pickup w/ Coil tap, Neck Pickup, Neck Pickup w/ Coil tap. You can hear the difference somewhat.

I used an Audix i5 to record the samples, about 2-3 inches away from the speaker.

I used some other effects on and off with the FF. Ibanez FL9, AD202 Delay, Whammy, Phaser, Wah in there someplace. I basically ran it through my pedalboard for the fun of it.

Guitar used was a 1980 Gibson 335-S Silverburst Solidbody.
