hi ive had my triple rectifier for a couple months now and i can not get around the buzzy thin type of distortion. the best setting ive gotten has been by turning the mids up alot. im using the stock 6l6's but im been thinking of flipping the switch to the EL34 mode to run the tubes hotter and hopefully get a significantly better tone(for running my tubes out quicker) so whatcha guys think? any other suggestions to get rid of the fizz.

Do a search in the Rectifier Series forum. Lots of info to be found.

Welcome to the forum.

hahah, thanks for the welcome. and yea i have been searching but cant find anything specifically answering my question...

flip the switch to EL34 and don't look back. Run tube rectifiers though or spongy if you use the diodes.

Might help if you post your settings, set up, pick ups and cab(s) you run. No way a TR should sound thin.

My guess is your not getting the volume up. If you are and it's still sounding thin, something else is going on. Grid resistor potentially.

Flipping that switch to EL34's with 6L6's in there will do more than just damage the tubes over times. I don't recommend it.
