Need sone help bc I'm a nub haha.

He has a Peavey ValveKing amp head and a Behringer cab. The head has dual outputs and a mono/stereo switch. His cab has dual inputs and a mono/stereo switch. Hes been playing through it with it set on mono. What would happen if he used both inputs/outputs and switched it to stereo on both? Would it sound any different?

Thanks! :D

going mono would be just as good since the fx loop is mono anyways. so running stereo would do nothing but require more cables which will add more possible points of failure.

His problem is he has a Peavey Chinese Valveking head, and a Behringer cab.

Tell him to sell them, save his lunch money and buy a real amp.

Best of luck.

i actually have a peavey valveking 100w 2x12 combo, and for the money it cant be beat. not a problem yet, and a VERY versatile amp, lots of flexibility with tone on both channels. yes it is a cheaper amp, but not everyone is rich. i bought mine to be a backup amp and an second amp so i can easily jam with anyone that comes over that knows how to play.

but even i wouldnt own a behringer cab. hell a guy in town here was selling a genzbenz 2x12 cab on craigslist for like $300, money much better invested than a behringer 4x12.

i'm glad i bought my valveking, i had to actually order it because every one that sam ash would get in would sell within like a week or two. its a great amp for under $700 and it can be used for almost any style of music without having to spend hours finding a tone you like.

and yes i'd rather have a mesa/bogner/thd/engl/5150/vht.

Going stereo with it won't sound different, you need stereo effects to get the effect of it. There's definitely nothing wrong with the valveking series for the price, I had a VK112 combo that I kept as a backup and practice amp for about a year, and the thing was a cool little amp.

I'm biased against the little Commie amps. I saw a brand new one melt down at a New Years gig last year, they'd just came out. Our second guitarist also plays keys, so it was no big deal, but the amp only had 20 or so hours on it and it was a smoking, stinking mess on a high dollar night.

There are a ton of used Mesa/Fender amps for $700/800.

Best of luck.
