Hi Everyone,

Wanted to post some pics of my current setup. My band plays a mix of Rockabilly/Psychobilly/Roots Rock/Modern/Punk music, and after many years of Marshall use (JCM 800's mostly), I made the switch to Mesa in early 2004. The idea was to get rid of the many different over drive and time delay effects that were needed to cover the styles listed above. It is still a work in progress, but it is getting closer and closer to what I envisioned. Currently I am using the following:

1999 Gretsch Setzer Hot Rod (with TV Jones classic pickups)
2000 Gibon SG Special (Duncan Dimebucker in bridge and Dimarzio EJ Custom in neck)
2004 Mesa Dual Recto (with JJ 6L6's and 12Ax7's, and a GT !2AX7M in V1)
1978 Fawn colored Marshall Cab with 25 watt Celestions
1994 Fender Blues DeVille ((with JJ 6L6's and 12Ax7's, and 1 JAN 12AY7)

Here are some pics:

Signal from either guitar goes into a Lehle switcher that has a A out for a tuner, B to an Amp, and then a B/C loop that allows fx to be inserted into the signal chain (and when disengaged, any device in this loop is out of the signal chain). The only current pedal in the loop is a Keeley modified BD-2 (or Fulltone OCD, not pictured). The signal then goes into a 2004 3 ch Dual Rec, which feeds a '78 Fawn colored Marshall 4-12 with 25 watt Celestions. A line out of the DR is also used to drive the power amp in of a Tweed Fender Blues Deville (w/4-10's), with a slight twist: A T-Rex delay is inserted between the DR line out and the Power Amp in; When using the Gretsch (in the Green channel, with the BD-2 on), the T-Rex is set to a slapback and adds depth. Also when using the Gretsch, the reverb on the tweed is turned up to 7-8. The combination of wet/dry amps sounds twangy and big.

The SG is used through Orange and Red channels (with the delay and reverb off) sounds very powerful; The combo of 12's and 10's seems to cover both low end and high end nicely.

Next up will be testing a Gibson Power Stealth Power Attenuator (actually a THD rebranded for Gibson) which i aquired in a pedal trade. It is 4 Ohms, and since the Marshall cab is 16 will require the cab to be rewired to 4 ohms. Should be interesting...

Please note that the Finger-ease and Guinness are essential parts of the recipe...

Cheers,
Tom
