Not sure how you guys are figuring I could "pocket" $1200 by selling outright the Mark IV and paying cash for a Mark V.

Selling outright would give me maybe 200-300 towards purchase of the new item. Less I would have to lay out versus taking less for a trade in and paying more cash. Did I say that right????

But, time messing around trying to sell an item could quickly make it not worth that savings to me. Letting someone else deal with that has significant value in my eyes.

Maybe pocket wasn't the right word. But selling it on your own vs trading means getting either $1200 or $900 off the price of the new amp. And your exactly right about the convenience factor. People trade things in because they want the new product today and/or don't want the hassle of marketing the item on their own. Neither method is right or wrong, it's just what works out best for each individual deal.

No Rules. Just Right! :D
