So I've been having a hard couple of months lately with a lot of stuff, I pretty much picked up everything and moved to a totally different state, started a new job, etc. I haven't had the chance to play out very much lately and today seemed like it was gonna be a continuation of the vortex of suck..

I asked some of my new coworkers if they ever wanted to jam sometime and finally on a whim this evening we all go together to play.. and some really nice blues style stuff to boot. It sounds lame and/or cliche' but after the first note none of that **** mattered anymore and it totally brought me back to level. I don't really know why I'm posting this but with all the talk of tweaking tone and matching the right gear up together it's nice to just turn that off and let the music do the talking.

Who knows if this will turn into anything but I'm grateful that for those 3 hours nothing else mattered.

Bro, I'm totally happy for you. I was lucky enough to jam with family and friends last Friday. All my emotions that I experienced that week between work, school, family bullsh!t, and throwing my back out came out in my playing. Its therapy for sure.

Cheers

I can totally relate to this thread. When I get together to play with friends, any problems seem to get left at the door.

just got back from another practice, our second.. this could be developing into something cool! i'm busting out a lot of post-rock stuff (very sprawling) with my memory man and making some awesome dissonace..

i might get shot for saying this but I'm not using my mesa

can't wait for the stiletto to arrive.. it will replace my orange as my band amp for sure.
