Right now I am just playing through a cheap Fender 1x12 cab that is loaded with an old MS-12 black shadow. I am looking to upgrade to a 2x12 and trying to decide what speakers to use. I'm looking for something efficient, big, and neutral w/ lots of headroom to let the MKV do all the work, The options I'm considering are:

---EVM-12L - pair it with the MS-12 (or get 2, but that would be very expensive & heavy!)

---classic lead 80 - these seem to me to be a "poor man's EVM-12L" - is that right? They're definitely cheaper! And they look to be efficient, clear speakers... But are they truly an alternative to the EV?

any input, experiences, or suggestions are most welcome!

I have Scumback M75s and they are the best speakers I've ever played through. Total British. I've also had 2 of the original Boogie Thieles with EVMs. I never got to the "that's the tone I've been looking for" moment with them. I'm a traditionalist.
