MK IV frustration! HELP!

I thought you were happy with it. Really I don't see a drastic difference if not side by side. Even side by side though they aren't that different. Again, the changes were pretty subtle.

yeah the differnece is pretty small. i would say both amps are pretty bright..that might be just how i play them..

I like the Groove Tubes 12AX7-M in V1, and the EH 12AX7s or Mesas for the rest.

I use the Winged C 6L6/EL34 combination, and these have proven very durable, and I love the tone.

I too find the JJs too dark when used all the way through the amp. I think their power tubes are a little too fragile for use in a high power combo. They are better for heads.
