Hi Guys,

We've recently made the move from a twin-lead setup in the band to me assuming all of the guitar duties !

To try and fill the sound gap that this leaves I was thinking of using my MK 1V as an additional speaker on the other side of the stage from me, however I'm not sure about the whole 'ohm' thing ! Can any of you advise me ?

I'm currently running a Cornford 50 Mk 11 head into a Cornford 2x12 cabinet - this requires the ohms on the Cornford to be set at 8. If I run a lead across the stage to the Mk 1V do I plug it into the 8 or the 4 ohm speaker socket, and what do I then set the Cornford at ?

First gig with the new line-up coming up in a few days so could do with some help asap !!

Thanks in advance guys!

Dave

You want to run your Mark IV and Cornford in stereo into the same 2x12? Is the Mark IV a combo i'm assuming? Or just use the Mark IV's speaker from your additional tap? I don't know how the impedance splitter works on Cornford's but you should be able to just leave it in 8 ohm's (or whatever the Mesa's speaker is) and hook it up if that's the case i'd assume since you wouldn't be connecting any odd loads.

If you're worried about hooking up a 8 ohm speaker into an 4 ohm tap, thats safe. May the rock and roll be with you.

(if you're really savvy, you'll ditch the Cornford and just run both from the 4 ohm taps of the Mark IV 8) )

Thanks for the advice - I'm trying to run the Mark 1V, which is a combo, as an extra speaker from the spare tap of the Cornford
