Ive had Mesa's for years but might have a chance to get a deal on a Soldano SLO. I currently have a 3 ch Triple and have never been totally happy with the tone. Has any one on here got any kind of idea of the differences in these amps. Thanks.

I won a SLO 100 and a 2 channel Rectifier (pre 500). I would say they both sound very similar when I A/B them, but I am not sure how a 3 channel would stack up

I played the hell out of a Soldano in GC one day and I liked it. Really aggressive through the whole Freq Band. (but I was playing in E-standard so it's not much of a test).

Also, Ceremony: What's the diff between the 3ch and old 2ch dual Recs?

Talk to Boogiebabies. He has owned each of the amps listed so far.

BTW, 2ch has less features, but a more organic and smooth tone. 3ch has more features, and a slightly buzzier, fizzy tone.

Thank you Elpelotero. That's just what I wanted to hear :)

I almost bought a 3ch before I picked up my 90's 2ch. I'm glad I waited and got the old one :)

Cheers.

I've never had a DR or an SLO. But I've played both and currently own amps by both companies. I think Soldano's have a distinctly different voicing than most Boogies. Much more "mid-forward" and more complex in the highs. From my experience, SLOs are more like modded Marshalls in their overall tone, whereas DRs excel in a completely different area. I have a Hot Rod 50 that I love for certain lead things but I find myself going to my F-30 more for recording dirty rhythm tracks because of the voicing. Like I said, they're not the amps you're asking about but I wanted to add my two cents.
