clean and verse is the blackmore, in the choruses the mesa kicks in.
please tell me what you think about the sound (overall, not only guitars)

jepp, northern germany.
it's not my band, i'm just the producer.
but i'm absolutely not into that kind of music, so i just thought i could use some outside-opinions.

the band's page is:

Well, i like the production, sounds really good.
I have nothing to say about it really.

What kind of effect is over the vocals btw, you hear it really good on the end?

thanks
effects are:
eq (slight boost @ approx 5k, slight cut at 500), compression, deesser.
then aux to medium plate reverb (just a bit) and delay (4th note on beat).
the chorusses are doubletracked (actually even 5-times) to get it fuller.

I love the mix, how could you record drums in such a quality?
The guitars sound really good as well.

keep it up.

thanks.

important: good drums, good mics, good preamps and converters.
most important: good drummer, good ears.

the drummer MUST hit very hard , nothing sounds worse than a weakly hit kick.

what i did in this case:
just gating, eqing and compression on every track plus multiband compression on the drums submix.

again, with a bad drummer and bad mics you won't get a great sound.

p.s. if you like it, feel free to sign my g-book : www.lsd-tonstudio.de ->gästebuch

Great sound. My personal preference is for a bit more of a chunky tube-type sounding distortion, but times change and that's a nice modern type sound. You're right about the drums. Wimpy drummer can = wimpy sounds. :D

I hate this type of music, but the production is pretty good. I think that the in the chorus, and that little break thing, (basically all the distorted guitar parts) the guitar could be a tad louder, though. Cool bass solo.

here's anotherone...
same band, same gear.....

The production sounds real good. Again not my cup of tea or even close to it for music, but the recording is really good! Great Job!
