Mesa Rectifier 4x12 Speaker Question (8 or 16ohm speakers??)

I have a 4x12 Rectifier Cabinet and want to know if there are sonic differences if I wire four 16 ohm speakers all in parallel to give me 4 ohms, OR, four 8 ohm speakers (2 in series and then 2 parallel) to give me 8 ohms.

Is there advantages or disadvantages?? Sound differences?? I'm running a Mark IV head.

Reason I'm asking, I have two 16 ohm V30's, and don't know if I should buy two more 16 ohm v30's or sell them and purchase four 8 ohm v30's.

there are some slight differences in sound people say. I'm too risk-adverse to try anything like that on an expensive amp. Make sure you follow the rules in your manual or...kaboom!
