Hi,

I own a Mesa Quad. The sounds are very good after some tweaking. I replaced the tubes and the quad is recapped.

I want to use my quad as followed

Channel 1 clean
Channel 2 clean with a little bit of gain
Lead 1: 80s chruch
Lead 2: modern gain

I covered channel 1,2 and lead 2 but lead one sounds blurry in the low, almost like a fuzz. Is it a defect in the amp or normal for the lead 1.

(I used other guitars, cables, poweramps so the problem is the quad)

Can someone help me out with this?

Marcel

You are going to have to make some sacrifice on one of the channels. What I found worked well was to use the manual settings for R and L 1. This is going to give you a very clean clean and on L 1 it seems to sound like a Santana lead. You'll be able to find it in the manual as the recommended setting with a strange M shape on the GEQ.
