Mesa Quad FU-2

I have the following problem:

I have a Quad and yesterday I've bought a FU-2 footswitch. The footswitch has en 4-pin XLR cable (shielded).
When I hook up the FU-2 with the Quad, the Quad does'nt respond as it should. For instance: Rythem 1 LED is always on. Lead 1 on the FU-2 is Lead 1 on the Quad.
The FU-2 LEDS are working fine, but is seems like the FU-2 and the Quad have a communication problem.

Who can help me?

Are you sure it takes the Fu2 and not the FU2A?

On the back of the amp is written "FU-2 Only".

Have you gotten this problem licked yet? Have you tried randomly tapping all of the buttons?
In any case, download the Quad manual from the Mesa Boogie site. It says a thing or 2 about the footswitch going out of whack from pressing the switches in a certain order.
