I have Sovtek 6L6WXT+'s at Mesa's RED rating... are those cold? Most of the time I'm on SS anyway.
My triple sounds good at home-levels too, sometimes I like it even better than at band rehearsal :shock: And to be honest I don't get it when people say you HAVE to crank the triples for good tone...
I've done some experiments with (very) high volumes and to my ears it didn't necessarily improved the tone that drastically if at all.
Funny thing about this 'test'... I had the master on the red channel full open and the overall master of the amp at about 3.30, the ceiling light in a adjacent toilet came down and the door of our rehearsal space rumbled. :lol:
The feeling of my guitar this loud was pretty majestic :mrgreen:
