I ordered a RK but it won't come for another 2 months and i never got the chance to play one. I have played the roadster, and DR but i wanted to know how does the Rk stand up to the 5150/6505 in a high gain wise(i know the rk smokes it in everything else). I will use the rk for mainly styles but mainly Heavy, Trash, Speed, Death, and Metalcore METAL. so do you think it will be able to hold up?

different sounds for high gain but all I can say is that my roadking is a high gain monster, I play all the stuff you listed and I find it to be excellent for it. I use channel 4 modern, diodes with 4 6l6 and 2 el34s and nothing comes close imo

So, uh...why was it you ordered an amp you're not sure you want again?

Just curious.

I ordered it because i need a VERSATILE amp and thats what the road king is. I have no doubt in my mind its not high gain enough but I wanted to know how good/great it is. I have a krank(high gain) and the roadster had better everything. so also played other high gain amps but i never got the chance to play the rk but only the roadster. I played other mesa amps at the mesa boogie store in hollywood

dude stop camparing the rk to inferior amps, and why do you keeep trying to talk yourself out of an amp you just ordered?
