Using JP's live settings back from when he used a Recto - basically the same settings as me, but with less bass and more gain, like you asked.

I kept the post-EQ'ing the same, so you could compare the two more easily.

Alright, you convinced me. That's exactly the up tone I've been trying to get (unsuccessfully) on tape with my dual rect head. I bit the bullet and ordered the preamp yesterday. Should be here end of next week. Thanks for making that clip. I always wondered if the pre was worth it.
