Mesa Boogie Mark 5 line out

I want to connect rhe Mark 5 to the mixer.

Should I use the slave out?
Or something else?
And is a DI box required?

Yes, you can use the slave out, connect it to a line input on the mixer. You don't need another box between unless you get a ground loop

Is my understanding of the slave out correct as I've been told it's a tap off of the signal coming out from the power amp? Or is it tapped after the preamp and before the power amp ?

It's tapped off the speaker output jack
