Mesa Boogie .22 Caliber

I just bought a 1985 Studio Caliber .22...non-EQ model on Reverb Works and sounds great...but would anyone here know why there is a small wood-wedge installed underneath the output transformer! Would it have come from the factory this way...and why? Thanks!

Not sure it would have shipped that way. Could have been that someone found or thought that the transformer was vibrating:

All the Boogies I've had have a small woodblock between the OT and the choke.
