Mesa '84 MKIIC+ 60 watt VS. '86 MKIII Simul-Class amp clips

I recorded these clips of each of these amps jamming to the same backing track. The IIC+ sounded a little smoother to my ears. I tried the III in using the same settings I used for the IIC+,but it was TOO bright. Anyway I darkened the III up a little to get close to the IIC+,but I couldn't quite get there and the III just seemed a little brighter and had more bite to the notes. Here's the link.
