Hello!

I have the opportunity to buy a 4x12 standard Mesa cab for around 600 euros (800 dollars). It's used but not abused and I would sell an Orange 2x12 to finance it. I've always found the Orange cab to be very "dry" sounding, kind of lifeless with my dual rectifier. I am happy with it but it misses something, maybe balls!

Here is the story:

A 2x12 is much easier for me to move around but I cannot seem to find any used Mesa 2x12 here in Europe (only Engl, Orange, Marshall, Bogner and Diezel). That is why I am heading to the Mesa standard 4x12 (easy to find used) because I have the feeling that nothing sounds better than a Mesa head on a Mesa cab.

Am I wrong? Can someone tell me more about Mesa standard 4x12's?

Cheers,

Tom.

I'm confused...are you looking at a 4x12 or a 2x12? Is this a vintage half-back vertical cab? Like this?

I'm looking for a 4x12 ;) Sorry if my post was a bit confusing. I've edited it and it should be clearer now.

The Mesa 4x12 is a great cab, especially for a Dual Rectifier. They are made to go together. However, it is very heavy (about 100 pounds). Also, the cab is very large and spacious, meant to boost bass frequencies on the Rectifier. Some people prefer the Traditional/Stilleto 4x12, which is a bit smaller and focuses more on the midrange frequencies.
