Does anyone know if you can order a different faceplate from Mesa (or distributor) after you've bought the head? I know you can order you head w/ one.
I want a black cloth faceplate for my DR head, don't like the 'tough guy' diamond plate.

I donno if you can buy them, but I've seen some people cover/tolex it themselves.

Here's one of my favorites;

Contact Michael Wolf at Mesa Boogie. I inquiered about this in an email and this is what I recieved from Michael.

Hello there! It appears that you need a grille for a Rectoverb head. If this
is correct, then the part is identified by "G2.RECVRB-B" as a prt number, and
it is $75.00. I'll attach an order form if you would like to proceed.
Thanks,Michael

Anyone know how to remove the diamond plate?

It appears to be glued onto a 3/4 inch board which has no obvious screws visible from inside the head shell.

A Mesa rep informed me that by removing the diamond plate you will inturn destroy the baffle it is on. He said they use a high-strength industrial 2-way tape to fasten the plate to the head.

bollocks, its just plain ol double stick tape and if you arent clumsy you wont break off anything. I watched an old studio mate take his off w/ a screw driver. No problem.

So whats the verdict? Will the diamond plate damage the frame if removed??

Im Curious.... :D
