I am going to sell my 1974 50 watt head and matching cab, which has blackback 25 watters in it..wondering if anyone out there has any info regarding market value of these early 70's amps/cabs...not many on fleabay to check out right now..I am cruisin' the plexi palace website as well-head is in "good" condition...some tolex wear and tear..has had master mod
thanks-

The metal panel 50 will fetch upwards of $1200 in pristine unmodded shape. For some reason the $ is in the 100w's. The cab on the other hand I have seen in the $3000 range if pristine. For a player the master volume mod might not be a big deal but if you are looking for big money then a collector will not spend on a modded amp. I have been seeing master volume modded 50's going for around $800. They seem to move best in that range. The cabs I have seen anywhere from $800 for something rather beat through the $3000 range for a closet classic.

Why are you selling?

thanks russ..that was the ballpark I was thinking I was in...I have had this amp since '92...I played in a few bands where I was able to do my best Dickie Betts imitation..this is purrrfect for that tone, but I recently bought a MK IV and I stumbled upon a MkIIC+ coliseum and I am building my Mesa arsenal-besides the sentimental attachment, this amp is basically just a beautiful end table right now..I can sell it and turn it into something more along my style now...just gatherin' dust!!I might go fleabay with the head...gonna try selling whole amp locally as a local pickup-I do not want to mess with shipping cab, but I will auction head if I do not get any local takers-I live 1 hour below Nashville and 1 hour north of BHAm,Al..so I should get some bites
