It appears that Mesa just raised the prices on Mark V head/combos - "regular" (black on black) head is now $2,099 and combo is $2,199. Some dealers still show old prices online while others have already updated their prices (as has Mesa Hollywood web site). A $100 price increase is not going to be a deal breaker for most buyers but I am still very curious as to reasoning behind it...

It's been 16 months since the last price increase.

I seem to remember that the price lists runs from February 1 - Jan. 31 . I bet if you ordered now you could get the old price .

It turns out Mesa raised list prices on a few products starting December 1st, and the list price for the combo is now $2,249 (even though Mesa currently offers it for $2,199 on their Mesa Hollywood web site). But Barry is correct: if you hurry up, you should be able to score a head or a combo at the "old" prices  - not sure how long will that last though.

Anyway, looking forward to receiving my brand new Mesa V combo next week. :)

I only wish we could get them that cheap in the UK. I bought my head used and paid the equivilant of about $2,960.00. New it would be more like $3,750.00

That is a bit misleading though . Whats the exchange rate now ? Last time I looked it was nearly $1.60 to the pound sterling .

Bought my head new for £2200, so $3410 @ $1.55 / 1£ which is the rate today. Still a LOT more expensive here thanks to transport, tax and importer margins

Sadly we cannot import amps due to different voltages, but guitars direct are a different option altogether :D

And by the way, shipping always goes up the beginning of the year, too.
Cheers!

yea but alot of dealers will cut you deals if you ask.....you can usually negotiate about 8-10% off pretty easily

I thought $2,100 was steep. I'm not sure $2,250 is worth it...and I own two Mark V heads.

Not to get political, but I think that this has a lot to do with the current state of the US/Global Economy.

It is.

In Canada the current price for a Dual Recto is about $700 cheaper than it was a few years ago.
