This little amp is a beast and sounded plenty big. I started with Clean and Edge and meant to move onto IIC+ mode, but Edge sounded so killer boosted that I never really moved on until shortly before we wrapped up.

I moved mine to a headshell. However here in the UK we're plagued with 16 ohm cabs. And the gigs I play usually have 3-7 bands on in a night. So backline is provided. So I switched back to the combo.
Never had a problem. I let the sound/desk/pa (whatever you call em) person eq my amp. The Mark makes that easy. I tell them don't touch the dials, just the sliders. Get what you want. And it works. The combo cuts through everything so I can hear it. The fellahs mic'ing it mostly do a great job out front. So everyone's happy

I usually gig my combo on top of a lonestar 410. The occasions that I've used it alone, I have found that using the graphic EQ eliminates any boxy sounds. Most of the time I use the EQ pre set around 10 o'clock on all channels.

The wide body cabinet on the Mark V adds some depth to the tone. Takes out the boxy character of a smaller sized combo. Also adds to the character for the clean channel in terms of acoustic clarity. I am hoping I will be pleased with the MC90 I ordered from Mesa arrives. I have my reason why I converted my Mark V from head to combo.

However, I have no experience using the Mark V combo in a band setting, closest I came was trying out the Mark V combo at GC before they stopped carrying the product. I was not playing the amp loud enough to hear it over the others making noise. The Mark III combo on the other hand, have plenty of experience with that in a band setting, I was able to drown out the bass and acoustic drum kit if so desired, but that had the black shadow EVM12L in it. That was one amazing little combo. Probably should have kept it. The Mark IV just did not have the right tone to mate with the MC90. I have killed more speakers with that amp. One reason why I sold it.

I don't think the MKV mates well with the MC90.
Currently building a ported cab to mate with it. Wondering if I should angle the speaker to alleviate the directional characteristic of 1x12's and keep the port 90 degrees to the floor.
