Hello,
I just became a member here :D . Very informative forum!
Here is an attempt to record a "heavy" distorted tone with my Mark V. :| I need help/feedback!

The secret to heavy guitar is a heavier bass. The guitar tones don't sound too bad but the guitar and bass aren't supporting each other.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
The bass is just a midi keyboard :( I know it could be tighter and better eq'd.
at this point my other problem is how to eq the bass so it sits well in the mix. gzz so much to learn..

You mentioned Ola in the other thread so I'll mention him here. He has a video on how to record guitars, which includes how to EQ the guitar in post-production and how to set up a bass.

Beyond that, I had difficulty getting the bass to sound right using midi. I couldn't get the feel and dynamics right until I used a real bass.

I know I've watched it.. :\ I guess I should just watch it a couple of times more and see if I get more knowledge.
Yes I know.. I need to get a real bass.. I've been wanting to buy one but haven't had the $$courage..lol
