Mark V....and 16ohm Cabs!.....

OK...i've been trying to get a used MK IV for a while but after a few months of finding nothing i decided to try to get a new MKV, the only thing that's bugging me right now is that i own a older Marshall 4x12 with Greenbacks wish i LOVE, but it's a 16ohm cab!...and the MK series seems to only have 4 and 8ohm settings. I have a vintage style 2x12 cab with V30's that does sound pretty good, but does'nt have the presence of my 4x12.

Is it dangerous to run my 16ohm cab plugged into a 8 ohm output?..it's something i've never had to deal with before!...

Yes, a 16 ohm cab into the 8 ohm jack is fine, and is listed as a safe mis-match on page 55 (fig. 5) of the MKV manual.

i'd run the 4 ohm outs into the 16ohm cab.

been doing it for years.
