I have been reading in the Mark IV manual about two seperate effects loops on the Mark IV, but the pictures (and my amp) seem to only have 1.

Is this always on effects loop something that is only on the MkIVa?

I know the B has the stereo effects loop and something called satellite which even after reading the manual I have no clue what it is.

BUt it would have been more usefull in my opinion to have the Mark IVb have the capability of running two effects loops, even if one was always on.

IVas don't really have two loops at once. There is one loop that is always on and one that is footswitchable IIRC.

IMO the IVb is more useful. Stereo loop means this:

Mark IV Effects Send (mono) -> Effect unit in -> Effect unit out (L&R) -> Mark IV Effects Send (L&R)
then you go from
Mark IV Satellite Send -> Slave amp on other side of stage (Ideally, a Mesa Simul Satellite or Satellite 60)

I'm not going to spend the money on another amp, but could I just send the satellite singnal to another power amp, a Road King effects return for instance?

That will be the same thing.
