While I know that LOG and Chevelle get heavy recorded sounds with the Mark IV, keep in mind, it'll never sound like that when you plug your guitar straight into.
When someone asks, "Can the xxx sound like zzz", I assume they mean when they bring the amp home, put it in their bedroom and plug their guitar into it.
With processing and mixing and doubling, etc., sure, it'll get heavy. But it would need more help getting there than a DR or something like that.
