I have a wide/medium head series A Mark IV. I found out this by looking at the circuit diagrams and the manuals description and some of my tests plus forum people.

V1 - 12AX7 A and B sections 1st gain stage
V2 - 12AX7 A and B sections Effect loop in and out stages (Some one here said that the side A is over driven when R2 channel is selected)
V3 - 12AX7 A and B sectionsthe lead stage
V4 - 12AT7 A and B sections Reverb buffer
V5 - 12AX7 A and B sections for the phase inverted. (better to be balanced)

V6/V7 - 6L6
V8/V9 - 6L6 or EL34
or you can have all V6/V7/V8/V9 6V6 and run in simul class and tweed mode.

Please note this is for "Mark IVa" version.

Regarding powertubes there's no difference between a Mark IV A or B as far as I know. You can also use 5881's btw.
